Classroom Management
To create a functional classroom, it is my job to find out what my students`goals are. Together, we create goals and I guide how that looks within the classroom. I create a basic framework within the classroom of my expectations from the students. As I understand what motivates and drives them, I can tailor the systems in place to work better. Management is a work in progress. If I begin to notice that the students want to be better at turning in homework on time, we would create a plan to create a sense of accountability within the student. This may be using class time to write in agendas or create a homework calendar. I want students to be encouraged to be engaged in their own learning and I will be able to hold them to the standard they set for themselves. By being in charge of their own standards, a deeper connection is made within them and the students feel more obligated to take ownership of their actions.
