Instruction
a) Communicating with Students
At my chemistry and art placements, I posted the weekly plans on a shared google calendar. At each of my placements I started each week by showing the calendar and the plan for that week. The students appreciated knowing what the plan was and would even write the whole agenda for the week in their agenda on that first day. |
e) Engaging Students in Learning
To the right is are two lessons I did. In the argumentative letter, I gave the students some basic notes about each era of time, they were instructed to choose two eras. One is the one that they live in. They were instructed to write a letter persuading an animal in another animal to use a time machine and come to theirs. The second lesson was about atomic theory. Students were supposed to create a mini-lesson about their scientist. They had background on the atom, but each of the scientists were mostly new to the individuals. I asked for a tactile element to their presentation. Some used a demonstration while others used a model. Students were creative and worked hard in the time given. |
